Bilingual Bible Lexicon: Hebrew, Greek & Aramaic Search
Berith Lab's Bilingual Lexicon is a standalone lexical search engine connecting Biblical Hebrew, Koine Greek, and Biblical Aramaic vocables to English and Spanish definitions. Using fuzzy transliteration and cross-lingual indexing, it enables instant lemma lookups across Strong's, Brown-Driver-Briggs (BDB), and Thayer's without requiring exact original language typing.

Grace, favor, goodwill, kindness; especially of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting His holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith.
Gracia, favor inmerecido, benevolencia, buena voluntad; especialmente la bondad misericordiosa mediante la cual Dios ejerce su santa influencia sobre las almas, las vuelve a Cristo y las fortalece en la fe.

For by grace (χάρις) are ye saved through faith...
How the Bilingual Lexicon Works
Engineered specifically for theological research, pastoral study, and academic seminars without linguistic friction.
Search in Your Native Language or Transliteration
Type queries directly in English ("grace", "faith"), Spanish ("gracia", "misericordia"), or approximate phonetic Latin letters ("shalom", "hesed", "agape"). You never need to switch system keyboards to Semitic or Greek scripts.
Fuzzy Levenshtein Tolerance Engine
Biblical languages often carry variable Romanizations (e.g. ch/h for heth, or vowel points omission). Our fuzzy indexer reconciles minor spelling variants with exact Strong’s keys, eliminating frustrating dead-end searches.
Standalone Independence from Verse Context
Unlike the inline Word Study drawer that requires reading a passage, the Lexicon is an independent reference sanctuary. Look up theological concepts, prepare sermons, or compare Semitic cognates freely at any time.
Original Corpus & Classical Authority Sources
Access Brown-Driver-Briggs (BDB), Thayer’s Lexicon, and Strong’s Concordance across Hebrew, Greek, and biblical Aramaic. Compare classical English references alongside bilingual Spanish glosses simultaneously.
Academic Transparency: Spanish Lexicon Status
Academic exegesis requires honesty about data provenance. Unlike commercial apps that obfuscate machine translation, Berith Lab explicitly declares the exact state of our Spanish lexical corpus:
"AI-generated translation from original English sources (Strong’s, Brown-Driver-Briggs, Thayer’s), with automated cross-verification. Human expert review: pending."
AI translations are systematically cross-checked against Strong’s semantic domains and English BDB lemmas to eliminate hallucinations and theological skew.
Formal review by human biblical scholars and Semitic linguists is in progress. We do not claim human verification has been completed until every lemma is certified.
Built for Researchers, Pastors, and Seminarians
Accelerate language work without cutting academic corners or introducing denominational bias.
Direct Lemma Exploration
Investigate core biblical terms like berith (covenant), shalom (peace), or dikaiosyne (righteousness) across the Old and New Testaments without being anchored to a single verse.
Spanish & English Parallel Sermons
Pastors serving multicultural congregations can study original Greek or Hebrew roots and immediately view corresponding definitions in both English and Spanish simultaneously.
Zero Keyboard Friction
Students learning introductory Hebrew or Greek do not get stuck configuring font layouts or vocalization points. Fuzzy search lets them focus on grammar, syntax, and meaning.
Scholarly Lexicon Inquiries
Clear answers regarding linguistic coverage, source citations, and our human expert review roadmap.
No. The search engine recognises queries typed in everyday English or Spanish, as well as rough phonetic transliterations (such as "chesed", "shalom", or "agape"). Powered by fuzzy matching with Levenshtein distance, you do not need to install original language keyboards, memorize root consonantal spellings, or insert Hebrew vowel points (nikkud) to locate the exact lemma.
